Collection: Beauty Up Close: Fine Art Nature Photography

While hiking in a wooded are in the mountains surrounding Pikes Peak, I came upon this cluster of wild rose blossoms and had to shoot this nature photo.  I loved the flowers, the contrast between the pink petals and the green foliage, as well as the texture of the granite.  These bees loved these flowers as much as I did!

Wildflowers are such a welcome, beautiful sign of spring.  This cluster appeared in our back yard, and I just had to take their portrait!

Early spring flowers are a joyous reminder of the coming summer!  In this nature image, a springtime grouping of Red Trillium and Blue Eyed Mary flowers peak above lush greenery at Washington State Park, MO.

Being new to Colorado, this fancy-pedaled flower was new to me, and a must-shoot!  I left the other blossoms out of focus to add depth to this nature image, and remove distractions from the grass.  Unfortunately I haven't seen one in the year since; I didn't realize how lucky I was to see it.

It pays to be fast!  I was hiking in Beaver Dam State Park in Illinois, when this male Prothonotary Warbler landed about 10 feet in front of me.  I was able to quickly take a few images before it flew away a few seconds later.  Thanks for posing for this nature image, sir!

This Barred Owl buzzed me while hiking in the early morning at Beaver Dam State Park in Illinois.  I think it felt guilty, so let me take it's nature image as it watched me through the tree branches.

I loved how the sun was highlighting this single pasqueflower and pinecones amid the pine needles in this simple minimalist nature image.  The flower was a welcome addition to the early spring groundcover.
